Behind the camera

I'm Josh, the photographer behind Winward Photography, based in Riccall just outside York. Before photography became my job, I spent years producing events in the games industry, and I still run Winward Events today. So I understand what happens on both sides of the camera: the pressure on the day, the moments that really matter, and what people actually need from their photos afterwards. It has also taught me how to read a room, stay out of the way, and be ready for a moment before it happens. Relaxed, documentary-style sessions around York, outdoors or in your own home. No stiff poses and no pressure on the kids, just the laughter, the chaos and the in-between moments that make your family yours. If you'd like a couple of classic group shots for the wall, we'll make time for those too.
